News of a new TV series from MTV that is going to be featuring vampires... "Death Valley", spotted by BloodyDisgusting.
After "Teen Wolf", MTV is adding to its horror slate ordering a horror comedy series about cops fighting monsters. The documentary-style "Death Valley" has an ensemble cast that includes Caity Lotz ("Mad Men") and Tania Raymonde ("Lost") and follows the Undead Task Force, which battles zombies, vampires and werewolves that have overrun the San Fernando Valley. "'Death Valley' is the perfect combination of horror and comedy, two genres we know our audience responds to," senior vp production Tony DiBari said. "That blend, combined with a fast pace and gritty 'follow doc' visual style, will take viewers on a wild ride where they are never sure what's around the next corner." Though MTV's audience skews female, executives said research has shown that horror is a good fit for the network, having already dipped a toe into the genre with its movie "My Super Psycho Sweet 16" and its forthcoming sequel.

Thanks for the heads up on the book and tv series. For some reason with Death Valley I immediately thought of QUEEN OF THE DAMNED movie as Lestat's concert was set there as well it's MTV style with all the video clips of his band, so I assume it might be similar in tone/appearance....
I wonder if author's still have to get the blessing from the Stoker Estate to write about Dracula, even though *I think* he is now public domain?
