Dread Central has some big news... March 8th will see the DVD release of Eulogy for a Vampire

A remote, rural monastery houses the young repressed monks of the Order of Pathicus and their dark secrets. Tainted by the severe murder of a young acolyte after a rebuked advance, the monks further retreat from a society they crave to join. After a quarter century of silence, the house’s violent past yearns for awakening. Animals are found eviscerated, odd sounds breathe in the night air, and an evil presence is felt throughout.
When an unconscious young drifter is discovered near the monastery, his sexual presence unsettles the young novices as well as the resident priests. The man’s dark charisma ensnares the attentions of the young novices as they are unraveled by their tense obsessions, except for the monk Rafael, who resists the stranger’s temptations and seeks escape from the doomed cage of the crumbling monastery.
Director Patrick McGuinn (Sun Kissed) and screenwriter André Salas (Latin Boys Go to Hell) create an erotic homage to "Dark Shadows", Hammer films, and 1970s Italian tales percolating with a sexual pulse, a menacing tone, a tinge of sly camp, and supernatural evocations. Eulogy for a Vampire was filmed in an atmospheric 19th-century manse in historic Philmont, New York, owned by Eleanor Ambos, the celebrated New York City antique dealer. The film stars Wilson Hand as Father Anthony, David McWeeney as Father Lars, Damacio Ruiz as Rafael, Angelo Tursi as Sebastian, Ryan G. Metzger as Florian, Craig Philip Lumsden as Eric, Darin Guerrasio as Brother Matthew, Nate Steinwachs as Stefano, Shawn Hollenbach as McGee, and Sal Bardo as Young Anthony.

Ben Walker to play Abraham Lincoln, Bram Stoker Film Festival news

New book news, I have two tonight with press releases from the publishers.

The first is Thirteen years Later by Jasper Kent, and is released Feb 15th.

In the summer of 1812, before the Oprichniki came to the help of Mother Russia in her fight against Napoleon, one of their number overheard a conversation between his master, Zmyeevich, and another. He learned of a feud, an unholy grievance between Zmyeevich and the rulers of Russia, the Romanovs, that began a century earlier at the time of Peter the Great. Indeed, while the Oprichniki’s primary reason for journeying to Russia is to stop the French, one of them takes a different path. For he has a different agenda: he is to be the nightmare instrument of revenge on the Romanovs. But thanks to the valiant efforts of Captain Aleksei Ivanovich Danilov, this maverick monster would not be able to begin to complete his task until thirteen years later. Now that time has come: it is 1825 and Russia once more stands on the brink of anarchy, and this time the threat comes from within....

Jasper Kent was born in Worcestershire, England, in 1968. He attended King Edward’s School, Birmingham, and went on to study natural sciences at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, specializing in physics. Kent has spent almost twenty years working as a software engineer in the UK and in Europe, while also working on writing both fiction and music. In that time, he has produced the novels Twelve, Thirteen Years Later, Yours Etc., Mr. Sunday, and Sifr, as well as co-written several musicals, including The Promised Land and Remember! Remember! Jasper lives in Brighton in the UK, where he shares a flat with his girlfriend and several affectionate examples of the species Rattus norvegicus. Visit Jasper Kent’s Web site at

The second will excite Moonlight fans.

Titan Books presents Angel of Vengeance, the original never-before-released novel that inspired the vampire TV series “Moonlight.”

Written by Trevor Munson, the co-creator, writer and producer of “Moonlight” (the CBS series which attracted 7 million viewers and still retains a loyal, devoted fan base and cult following), Angel of Vengeance offers a new twist on the classic Dracula vampire tale and blends it with Raymond Chandler’s hardboiled P.I. detective fiction.

Munson, who admits to a long love affair with vampires, explains it was his aim to create a story with a new and fresh way in to the vampire mythos. “Blending the two genres I loved best by creating a blood-sucking Philip Marlowe, who was turned in the forties, and continued on as a living anachronism in the present day, seemed like it held a lot of potential to be that story” – a story, as it turned out, that CBS loved … and after creating a lighter, more romantic version … ultimately hit the TV network even before it was published.  Now, for the first time, fans will have the chance to read Munson’s original- a much darker tale than that depicted in “Moonlight.”

Angel of Vengeance:  L.A.-based P.I. and vampire Mick Angel has been hired by a beautiful red-headed burlesque dancer to find her missing sister.  The apparently simple case of a teenage runaway is soon complicated by drug dealers, persistent cops, murder, and Mick’s own past.  Mick must learn the hard way what every vampire should know – nothing stays buried forever, especially not the past.
