Catch-up Friday

Ok, back from Paris, and thanks to a few scoundrels that regularly haunt this blog (you shall remain nameless, but you know who you are) I return to the horror of Lifesized Edward Cullen dolls.

Ugly Americans on comedy central

Vampire Cafe spotted this... a True Blood & Philosophy book on the way in June.

Bloody Disgusting has news that Wesley Snipes wants to be in another Blade movie... shame the producers dont want that.

Big news of the night... shocktilyoudrop spotted this. Comedy Central is to start screening a new animated series called "Ugly Americans" featuring zombies and vamps, starting March 17th.

Dracula made it on to dentist's top 10 fantasy patients, believe it or not... details here.

Dracula may be coming back to broadway, with an oscar winner as the lead... details are here.

Vampire Hunter D live action...?

Sundays are usually quiet, so thanks to Gabriel for providing this, what is quite possibly the best film review ever written. The word Twi-tard does not even come close...

Third Shift

Suburban vampire spotted this little gem of a film - Third Shift.

If you’re in the mood for a hip and hilarious short film that combines the worlds of Clerks, Woody Allen, and vampires, check out filmmaker Bruce Guido’s Third Shift. The lead vampire, Larry, works at a convenience store, lacks motivation to allure humans, and is an overall embarrassment to the vampire community. Yet he makes us want to root for him. …some language and scenes inappropriate for the kiddies…

Gabrielle Faust's excellent Eternal Vigilance vampire series could be turned into a movie... it just needs signatures! These books would make a great movie, so please take a minute and sign up.

Beyond the Rave review, God of Vampires

Lets start with this tonight... well worth a read. "For love of do-good vampires : a bloody book list" has news that season II will rerun on HBO in March.

Dread Central has spotted a new film - God of Vampires. The trailer is from 2006, but it finally gets its dvd release on May 4th.

Professional killer Frank Ng has been contracted to murder a Chinese crime lord. The routine hit goes awry when Frank discovers his mark is actually a vampire. Suddenly, the tables have turned. The hunter has become the hunted. This is no ordinary vampire of myths and legends, however. Frank has come face to face with the vengeful Kiang-Shi (Chinese vampire), and it vows to inflict upon Frank such unbearable pain that death will be his only sanctuary. Cursed, Frank is condemned to helplessly witness the horrific and merciless deaths of those he loves, everyone he knows, and anyone he merely brushes by. His anguish intensifies when he dooms his younger brother to this terrible fate. Enlisting the help of a Chinese herbalist, knowledgeable in the ways of ancient lore, and an unlikely team of vampire hunters, Frank strikes out in a final battle against the Kiang-Shi and his minions of the dark. Tonight Frank Ng will discover that to destroy the monster, one must become the monster!

A little news from the set of Bloodsucka Jones... shooting is about done, and they are hoping to debut the film at Screamfest later this year.

True blood III bits...

True Blood season III first tonight. Vampire Cafe spotted this interview with Eric. The cafe also spotted some casting news for season III here.

Some news for our american friends... Being Human season II is to screen on BBC America in late summer, with season III to follow.
